About woofLogs

woofLogs icon

woofLogs is built by a dog owner — not (yet) a certified trainer — in collaboration with trainers and behaviorists. It's designed to help humans stay consistent, reflective, and kind to themselves during training.

Rather than telling you what to train, woofLogs focuses on the logic of training progression — helping you plan, track, and adjust training sessions over time.

Training is not linear — woofLogs reflects that

Real dog training doesn't move in a straight line. Progress depends on where, for how long, and under what conditions a behavior is practiced.

woofLogs is built around a simple but powerful idea used in modern positive training:

The 3D training principle

Distance

How far you are from your dog

Duration

How long a behavior is maintained

Distractions

What's happening around your dog

woofLogs helps you increase difficulty gradually and intentionally, one dimension at a time — instead of pushing everything at once.

What woofLogs is (and isn't)

woofLogs is not a dog training method. It does not replace trainers, behaviorists, or professional guidance.

Instead, woofLogs is a training companion for humans.

📋 Plan

Training in small, manageable steps

📊 Track

What actually worked (and what didn't)

💭 Reflect

On progress over time

🎯 Stay consistent

Without pressure or guilt

The goal isn't perfect obedience.
The goal is clarity, structure, and kindness — for both dogs and humans.

woofLogs FAQ

Short answers about what woofLogs does, who it is for, and how it supports dog training.

What is woofLogs?

woofLogs is a dog training companion app for iOS and Android. It helps dog owners plan sessions, log what happened, track progress over time, and automatically generate a structured weekly training plan. It's built around the 3D training principle - Distance, Duration, and Distractions - to help owners increase difficulty gradually.

Who is woofLogs for?

woofLogs is for dog owners, dog walkers, pet sitters, and anyone involved in positive reinforcement training. It's especially useful for people who feel lost between sessions or unsure whether they're making real progress.

Does woofLogs replace a dog trainer?

No. woofLogs is a training companion, not a training method. It works alongside your trainer or behaviorist by helping you stay consistent between sessions, track what you tried, and reflect on what worked.

How does woofLogs structure training?

woofLogs uses the 3D training principle (Distance, Duration, Distractions) to help owners progress gradually. You can log a session, see visualised progress, and get an auto-generated weekly training plan tailored to your dog's current stage.

Is woofLogs free?

Yes. woofLogs offers a free version. The free plan includes the core features you need to plan and track your dog's training, such as:

  • Creating and organizing exercises
  • Planning training sessions
  • Logging your progress
  • Following structured progression based on duration, distance, and distraction

For users who want more advanced functionality, paid plans are also available. These include additional features like syncing across devices, sharing access, and upcoming advanced planning and insights tools. You can check the latest details on available plans and features on the pricing page inside the app.

What platforms is woofLogs available on?

woofLogs is available on both iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).

What makes woofLogs different from other dog training apps?

Most dog training apps tell you what to train. woofLogs focuses on the logic of progression - helping you understand when to increase difficulty, when to step back, and how to stay consistent over time. It's built by a dog owner in collaboration with trainers and behaviorists.

Does woofLogs work for reactive or anxious dogs?

Yes. The structured, gradual approach in woofLogs is particularly well-suited for dogs who need slow, careful progression - common with reactive, fearful, or rescue dogs.

Can professional dog trainers use woofLogs with their clients?

Yes. Dog walkers, pet sitters, and trainers can use woofLogs to document sessions and track a dog's progress over time, making it easier to communicate with owners.

What is 3D dog training?

3D dog training means changing training difficulty through three dimensions: Distance, Duration, and Distractions. It helps owners increase challenge gradually instead of making everything harder at once.

How is progress tracked?

Progress is tracked by logging sessions, noting what happened, and reviewing changes over time. woofLogs uses those logs to visualise progress and support structured weekly planning.

My story

Hi, I'm Kasia 👋

I'm a scientist and engineer who enjoys building things, learning in public, and turning personal experiences into thoughtful tech projects. I'm also deeply interested in animal welfare and behavior.

woofLogs started with my own experience as a dog owner — feeling lost, overwhelmed, and unsure whether things were actually improving, even while working with trainers and behaviorists.

I kept asking the same questions many dog owners ask:

Are we making progress, or just repeating exercises?
When should I make things harder — or easier?
How do I stay consistent when life gets busy?

woofLogs began as a way to answer those questions for myself.
